The UAE Ministry of Education website (www.moe.gov.ae) won ‘Best Government Services Website’ in the Arab world in the prestigious Kuwaiti Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Awards. It was chosen as a leading example of how governments can use e-services to create effective websites for citizens and employees.

The website’s online e-services were developed by ITWorx [www.itworx.com], one of the Middle East’s leading software professional services providers. Accessible anytime and anywhere, these services open a new communication channel between the Ministry and its stakeholders whether students, parents, or employees. Stakeholders can now access these services 24/7 without the need to be physically present at the Ministry’s official sites.

Services currently online include request for borrowing an educational release, request for teacher meeting, and payroll detail request; while “Ask the Minister” allows citizens to pose concerns and questions directly to HE. Dr. Hanif Hassan, UAE Minister of Education.

Within this e-transformation, response time to requests has fallen considerably, resulting in greater and faster request fulfilment. And with features that enable transaction tracking and measurement, the Ministry is now empowered with statistics and trends analysis essential to performance management and improvement.

This in turn means better and more accessible services for citizens, and greater facilitation of the day-to-day work of employees, in full support of the Ministry’s long-term strategic objectives.

Hossam Badr, ITWorx Regional Sales Director – EMEA, said: “We are very proud that one of our more high-profile projects has won such a prestigious award. ITWorx congratulates the Ministry of Education on their success.”
