ITWorx Citizen1st Team has signed a contract with the Ministry of Civil Services (MCS) in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to connect the ministry to the Government Service Bus (GSB). This new implementation will be based on ITWorx GSB Connect, one of ITWorx Citizen1st solutions that serve regional and local governmental institutions.
ITWorx GSB Connect aims at facilitating the utilization of services from the GSB. The new agreement with MCS also involves publishing the ministry’s services on GSB, and exploring other strategic visions that may be accomplished via ITWorx GSB Connect. |

This year, MGX took place in Atlanta, USA. During the event, Badr gave an influential presentation on BingMyWay, the new iPhone application.
BingMyWay is a pioneering iPhone application that promotes citizens’ engagement through a proactive reporting scheme of incidents and traffic conditions which are then stored on Windows Azure and visually displayed on a map on the iPhone and web. |

| ITWorx Launches a New Service within MoL Program | |

ITWorx delivers a new e-service for Ministry of Labor (MoL) in Saudi Arabia, as an addition to MoL new online portal that was previously provided by ITWorx. Part of the national e-Government initiative, the new service will allow MoL to better serve both corporations within the Kingdom; by offering a simpler tool to register their foreign labor or employees, and government officials; through having an easier access to the employees profiles and data.
Concerned with the development and use of the Kingdom’s human resources, MoL is responsible for manpower planning, labor relations, and the general monitoring of all matters relating to labor and employment affairs. The Ministry is also tasked with processing labor disputes, employment in the private sector, and labor permits.
ITWorx was sub-contracted to provide a solution that would consolidate previously disparate MoL systems, provide e-services to the public and for internal use, and uphold an up-to-date and accurate data repository. The new centralized and bilingual (Arabic/English) portal will allow citizens to find MoL information, forms, and announcements in an easy way through a single unified interface, as well as engage MoL services online using a single sign-on procedure; the portal also offers an e-employment service.

As part of the Microsoft Citizenship Seminars 2010, ITWorx presented its Government Performance Management service offering, ITWorx GPM, in the “IT in Government: Highlighting Efficiency in Government Organizations” seminar on April 6, 2010 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
ITWorx GPM gives governments the capability to cascade, share, track, and update strategies and plans organization-wide to ensure accurate execution on all levels. Originally developed by a third-party, Carrier’s website is based on Vignette technology. ITWorx upgraded the site from Vignette 7.3.1 to Vignette 7.5, carried out all the required code adjustments to comply with UTC shared environment standards, enhanced the website’s performance, and resolved all security issues.
After successfully implementing and launching the migrated website, ITWorx AAA support team is now responsible for supporting Carrier.com administrators with any production issues.

ITWorx ESSC has successfully implemented and completed the delivery of a number of Microsoft Live@edu solutions for six Omani universities under the auspices of the Oman Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Microsoft Live@edu is a free suite of hosted Microsoft services and applications that help students use the Internet for collaboration on campus, in the classroom, and in their daily lives and personal activities.
The Live@edu program provides education institutions with a set of hosted collaboration services, communication tools, and mobile, desktop, and web-based applications, as well as data storage capabilities. The educational authority receives its own customized, live domain name, in addition to user emails for students, alumni, staff, and others.
With the Microsoft Live ID, a student can sign-in and access multiple Microsoft applications such as email services, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Spaces, Windows Live SkyDrive, Windows Live Mobile, and others. Students are exposed to Microsoft products similar to those used in global workplaces, helping to prepare them for jobs after graduation.
The Live@edu suite is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux, and regularly updated with features and new services that enable education institutions to expand the set of services they offer their students.
